Manufacturers’ confidence up
Manufacturers are feeling more confident even as sales fell further during January, the New Zealand Manufacturers and Exporters Association’s latest survey of business conditions shows.
Total sales among the survey sample fell 3 percent, with export sales down 32 percent and domestic sales up 15 percent on a year earlier.

Meat and dairy boost manufacturing sales
Manufacturing sales volumes rose a seasonally adjusted 3.1 per cent in the December quarter, led by meat and dairy and other food-related industries.
