If you’re travelling through Christchurch International Airport this year, expect to see a lot of building activity. Redevelopment works will soon be under way by two different construction companies.
The contracts for the upgrade of Christchurch International Airport have been awarded to two major players in the construction industry.
Hawkins Construction has won the contract to redevelop the airport’s $10 million international retail area, where Australian retailer JR Duty Free will have its outlet.
There will be shopping areas for arriving and departing travelers built as part of the redevelopment, as well as new food and beverage outlets. Works will begin next month.
